Back to School

Well summer has come to an end for most kids including my sweet baby boy. He started Mommy's Day Out this week. He was super excited to take his new gear to school especially his nap-mat ahem I made him.

This is the first time we have left him to be looked after by others besides mom and dad. He soon realized he was going to be left and kicked and screamed as I handed him over to the teacher who reassured me to leave that it would be okay. I think she saw that I was rethinking leaving him and had she not lovingly nudge me to the door I might have grabbed him and ran for the front door.

So today is day two and I am really nervous because he will know where we are going today and I hope eventually he will enjoy his time learning and playing with his new friend's.  "Mama said there'd be days like this." Wish us luck and hope we can both do it.

New Years Resolution?!

I know I'm a little late on the whole New Years resolution. As much as I need to eat healthy or exercise like the next person. I really need to make a point to look groomed. It's a very simple everyday task. As a SHM and E-Shop owner! It's hasn't been on my priority list to change out of my sweats let alone brush my wild mane when I am chasing after a happy toddler and getting orders out. I've been happy if I shower and brush my teeth. But I think it's high time I put some effort into my wardrobe even if I'm just working from home and the only encounters I have are with my toddler, Rocky my pup and my loving husband. I think he too deserves to see me in something other than a beat up tee that may or may not have Tiny Cheetos handprints and who knows what else! So goodbye frumpy momma!

Green Smoothies

Hello y'all,
It's been too long since my last post. I'm having a dilemma. I used to drink spinach and fruit smoothies before I was pregnant with my son but crazy hormones and such I couldn't drink while pregnant. I really enjoyed drinking breakfast smoothies because they are easy and good for ya. Win win! So today I decided to make one while the little one feasted on waffles. I blended up vanilla soy, spinach leaves, frozen berries and tons of cinnamon. I took a big gulp and it tasted like dirt! Seriously, and I washed the leaves peeps before ya ask. So if you have a favorite smoothie that is nutritious and yummy please share! My taste buds will thank you :)

Do you dream a little dream?

I am starting this blog in hopes to empower women to stop dreaming about what moves you and make it a reality.

I used to sit and wish I had learned how to sew from my great-grandmother. Or if I knew of someone who was a seamstress I'd mention to them how I'd love to learn but with everyone so busy these days, that never happened.

So I decided to teach myself to sew and I was pretty confident thinking back to that moment. But, when my husband forked over the mula for my machine and physically got it home. I was not so confident.  Frankly, I was afraid to touch the machine. But, I pulled up my breeches and tackled that bad boy and haven't looked back.

Girls, if  is there is a will there is a way. Maybe you dream of making a nice Thanksgiving spread this year for you and your loved ones but can't manage to boil rice. It's okay there are some great people out there with some mad cooking skills that are willing to help you out. So get your head out of the clouds and get cracking.
